Best Young Researchers Award (2024), Universidad Autonoma de Madrid, Spain (December 2025)

• Ruben Tolosana received the “Best Young Researchers Award (2024)” from the Universidad Autonoma de Madrid. This award recognises and makes visible the work of young researchers at the UAM for their contribution to scientific development, as well as their national and international visibility as a leading research center.

• Presenting our research and technology at IEEE/CVF Intenational Conference on Computer Vision Workshops. We got three papers accepted: Active Membership Inference Test (aMINT):Enhancing Model Auditability with Multi-Task Learning, AttZoom: Attention Zoom for Better Visual Features, and “DeepID Challenge of Detecting Synthetic Manipulations in ID Documents”.

Prof. Anil K. Jain visits BiDA-Lab, Madrid, Spain (September 2025)

• Prof. Anil K. Jain visited our BiDA-Lab research group. We had the honor to discuss interesting topics in Artificial Intelligence, including our recent research lines and advances in topics such as DeepFakes and Fake ID Detection, Behavioral Biometrics, Explainability and Bias, etc.

IEEE/IAPR IJCB 2025, Osaka, Japan (September 2025)

• Presenting our research and technology at IEEE/IAPR International Joint Conference on Biometrics. We got three papers accepted in different topics: Fake ID Detection, Biometric Verification in Avatar Scenarios, and In-Air Signature Biometrics. We are also the winners of the Aerial-Ground Person Re-identification Challenge (AG-VPReID 2025). All the details of the AG-VPReID 2025 challenge are publicly available in the corresponding paper.

Best Paper Award at 2nd MetaFood Workshop, IEEE/CVF CVPR 2025, Nashville, USA (June 2025)

• Our paper “Are Vision-Language Models Ready for Dietary Assessment? Exploring the Next Frontier in AI-Powered Food Image Recognition” received the “Best Paper Award” at the 2nd MetaFood Workshop organized within IEEE/CVF Computer Vision and Pattern Recognition Conference, CVPR 2025.

Organization of the Forum on Artificial Intelligence in Research (FAIR), Madrid, Spain (April 2025)

• Aythami Morales co-organized the “Forum on Artificial Intelligence in Research (FAIR)”, celebrated from April 28th to April 30th 2025 at La Cristalera (Madrid). The aim of the Forum was to provide a clear overview of the key milestones, seminal works, and fundamental mechanisms that have shaped this field.

• Some members of Cátedra ENIA UAM-Veridas en IA Responsable presenting key advances in Artificial Intelligence (AI) at XIV Feria Madrid es Ciencia 2025, Madrid, Spain. The goal is to stimulate interest and curiosity in science, technology, and innovation through observation, experimentation, and analysis. In the picture, we also had the opportunity to meet up with other researchers of the Cátedra Universidad-Empresa en IA from Universidad de Granada.
